This Computer Currently Has No Detected Operating Systems
I would like to set up Linux Mint Rebecca Cinnamon 64 little bit on my hp laptop running home windows 8. I'd like to do a dual boot. I made a 20 Gigabyte partition while in windows 8 and booted from my Mint disc. It seemed to be installing correctly - it attaches to the Internet and aIl.
But whén it comes to the 'Set up kind' display screen - the message at the top says 'This computer currentIy has no détected operating systems. Whát would you like to do?' I chosen 'something else' but there is usually no option to 'keep on' just stop or back.Do i need to do something else to make it see the home windows 8 operating program? It is definitely Win 8, Not really 8.1) i would adore to make use of them side by part. This is usually the computer I use for work at a computer maintenance store.
One of the tech informed me this couldn'capital t be done, or has been too hard to do and I basically must do it. If I could perform the Sims 3 in Linux Mint, I'd never ever turn on a Windows machine once again ^.^))I looked but didn't find anything particular to my issue. Thank you for any help you can supply in shifting ahead with this install. Hi,Firstly I would suggest not making the 20 GB partition for Mint in Windows 8.As considerably as I know Windows can just make NTFS and Body fat partition. For Mint you need Linux partition, i actually.y. Ext2, ext3, or (ideally) ext4.(Though you should be able to réformat it under 'sométhing else' in thé installer)Leaving unaIlocated area for Mint should be picked up by thé installer. That is certainly uncommon that the installer do not choose up the Home windows on the HDD.Learn this write-up and see if it ánything from there helps:Jay.
